Anne Ashby | Mediator – Arbitrator

Anne Ashby served as District Court Judge for the 134th District Court in Dallas County for 20 years. She tried more than 244 jury trials to verdict and presided over hundreds of bench trials and thousands of hearings covering civil and commercial litigations. Her universal experience brings a wealth of knowledge and reality to the arbitration and mediation process.

She is sought out as a mediator in potentially volatile situations because of her strong, yet calming influence and well-designed methods. She intuitively understands highly emotional disputes. She vigorously prepares, rehearses and implements a plan for resolution and is sensitive to the time and investment of counsel and their clients.

Judge Ashby earned a 90% approval rating by the Dallas Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Poll in 1989 and was named Judge of the Year in 2001 by the American Board of Trial Advocates. In 2009, the Dallas Bar Association awarded Judge Ashby for Outstanding Judicial Service.

Judge Ashby is AV ® Preeminent ™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She is a 27 year member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, Fellow (FCIArb) of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Distinguished Credentialed Mediator of the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association, Life Founding Fellow of the DAYL, a Dallas Bar Foundation Fellow and Charter Member, and a Texas Bar Foundation Life Fellow. She was board certified from 1984 through 1999 in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She serves as a Neutral for the American Arbitration Association (Asbestos, Commercial Expedited & Large-Complex, Consumer, Healthcare, Judicial, Labor & Employment, Mediation, and Special Master Panels). Ashby also serves on the Panel of Arbitrators for Judicial Workplace Arbitrations, Inc., DII Industries, LLC, and FORUM f/k/a National Arbitration Forum (NAF).
